| Welcome to NOTA! |
NOTA was founded in 1977, established as a not-for-profit corporation in Ohio in 1978,
and recognized as the second Permanent Chapter of the American Translators Association (ATA) in 1979.
NOTA membership is open to anyone working in the translation or interpretation industry.
NOTA promotes professional development and competence through workshops, seminars,
and its newsletter. Members maintain a support network for mutual assistance and cooperation, terminology
exchange, and continued professional development in Northeast Ohio.
NOTA also assists area businesses, industry, and institutions in locating competent
translators and interpreters. However, NOTA does not provide or recommend translation
or interpretation services. To contract services with a member listed in this directory, please click
on Find a Translator/Interpreter and contact him or her directly. If you are a business
and you are interested in working with translators and interpreters, we recommend this free ATA publication:
Translation: Getting it right. A guide to buying translations.
